The Blue Lagoon is gorgeous -- even more so than in the movie of the same name that catapulted a young Brooke Shields to fame. To swim smoothly through the jade green waters with their cool top layer and warm underneath, to taste the sweet sultry saltiness of it -- that is heaven.
Located at San San, Fairy Hill is the picturesque location for the film of the same name. The water is 180ft deep and a remarkable shade of Blue. This fresh water lagoon (180 ft. deep) has been the setting also of the Hollywood movie Club Paradise, staring Robin Williams.
Explore the lush tropical gardens and find where the cold mineral water bubbles out of the ground to fill this beautiful lagoon. This area and the surrounding gardens are so beautiful that it has been declared a national monument by the Jamaican Government.
The lake is opened to the sea by a narrow funnel, but its waters come from the springs in the surrounding mountains. A legend says its waters are aphrodisiac. You should try it, just in case. The Blue Lagoon offers helicopter landing facilities.
